Orange Carrot Cake from Amish Cooking:
At our wedding reception (30 years ago on August 1!), we served carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. That’s different from the above recipe, I know, but it’s still carrot cake. Yum!

Thanks!
That’s one of our rooms here at Anabaptist Bookstore.
Unfortunately, it’s a big room. Faaaaaaaaar too big. Especially that area called Customer Service.
I really would like to hear from you on this. I want to cut down on the size of that room. And to be most effective at that, we need your feedback.
What can we do to improve our customer service? What complaints and concerns and disappointments — and suggestions — do you have?
Over the years I have been very blessed and encouraged with the positive feedback hundreds have left in our business guestbook, but now I’m needing The Other Kind of feedback. 🙂
God wants me to have hope.
(No surprise there; He is the God of hope!)
So He provided me with the Scriptures. They instill in me patience and comfort…and hope.
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).
And He allows me to believe. Through it I open the gateway to all joy and peace…and hope.
And yet….
Where does the Bible fit in my pedal-to-the-metal, rubber-to-the-road, nose-to-the-grindstone experience of real living?
If God’s Word in printed form lies at the periphery of my life, barely discernible and rarely discerned, where do patience and comfort and hope lie?
So here’s a message just for me: The Bible was written to you!
And a message just for you: The Bible was written to you!
I send this newsletter only to people who WANT it. (If you want to forward it to a friend — well, that’s up to you. It’s certainly fine with me.)
