This is a fair question requesting an honest answer.
The world may know more about us than we realize, as we can see by the lives of the young men in this book. This book is a real challenge to our youth, the parents, and the ones whom the Lord has appointed to shepherd His flock. The readers will be challenged with the scriptural truth of, "We reap what we sow."
May each reader be strengthened in the faith, and encouraged to take up the challenge as they read this true-to-life narrative.
There are certain times in our lives when experiences make such an impression on us that we can almost "taste" them. We have older brethren among us that well remember what it felt like to receive an official notice from Selective Service, the cold harshness of an Army physical, and the disruption of leaving home for two years of Alternative Service.
Now laws and polices have changed. This leads us to believe that our young brothers may face much closer scrutiny if they are drafted. In this story the author looks forward and paints a picture of future scenes that may become very real someday.
Dear young brother and sister, are you walking with God in such a way that He truly is your guide and refuge, no matter what the days may bring? God has not promised you a safe and stable America, but He has promised to always be with His faithful ones. May that be your blessing.
